Kitobchilar.uz (“Platform”, “we”, “us”) is operated by IT Club. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website and Android application.

By using our Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

• Account information: First name, last name, phone number, and password when you register.
• Profile information: Your geographic location (latitude/longitude) if you choose to share it, to help other users find books near them.
• Book and rental data: Books you list, rental requests you send or receive, messages exchanged within the Platform.
• Payment data: Wallet balance and transaction history within the Platform. We do not collect credit card or bank account details.
• Usage data: Interaction logs, device type, and browser type collected automatically for service improvement.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To facilitate book rental and exchange transactions between users.
• To display your books and location on the map for other users.
• To send you notifications about rental requests and messages.
• To calculate and process rental payments within the Platform wallet.
• To improve our services and resolve technical issues.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your information may be disclosed only:

• To other users: Your name and approximate location are visible to other Platform users when you list books or appear on the map. Your phone number is shared only with users whose rental request you accept.
• Service providers: We use Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), and Cloudinary (image storage). These providers process data solely to deliver our service.
• Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5. Location Data

We request your device location only when you explicitly choose to set or update your pickup location. Location data is stored on our servers and displayed on the Platform map. You can remove your location at any time from your profile settings.

The “Show directions” feature on book detail pages uses your real-time GPS position only in your browser — this data is not sent to our servers.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, your personal data will be removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

• Access and review the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Withdraw consent to location sharing at any time.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and access controls to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Our Platform is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
